Portugal – a destination wedding
A custom design -made from scratch
Bridesmaid here
Julies dress was made from luscious silk and cotton fabrics. Beautifully natural.

The Bride and I discussed the style and I met her in New York where she was living with a mock up and some proposed fabrics. We settled on the lace you see here, and the chiffon for the skirt. We also selected truly antique silk charmeuse, a recycled piece of a 1900’s skirt. While in NY we visited the garment district and found a silk for the skirt lining. It matched wonderfully with our antique silk for the bodice and gave the whole thing a vintage feel.

To complete her look I also made some delicate hair pieces.

Julie is my sister so I was around during her prep to help supervise. I brought my sewing kit but no wardrobe emergencies came up for this one!
